In addition, individual cities and municipalities may impose their own local accommodation tax, ranging from 100 to 2,000 JPY per person per night, on top of the Hokkaido tax.The accommodation cost includes the room fee and service fee, but excludes food and beverage expenses as well as consumption tax. Please note that some room rates do not include the accommodation tax; in such cases, the tax must be paid separately at the front desk.
